Corsicana Art League sponsored “Paint Historic Corsicana.” I saw all the bright yellow shirts as artists painted the historic sights of Corsicana during the day on Sat. October 3rd.  Paintings were taken to The Art Spot at 3:30 p.m. Oct. 4 for a reception, judging and sale. Paintings will be hung a the Corsicana/Navarro County Chamber of Commerce throughout October.

I spent Saturday just knocking about Corsicana with a very good friend. We indulged ourselves with a manicure and pedicure, lunch at Roy's Cafe then just browsed all the little local stores. As we stepped out of Roy's, we ran into a lady with her bright yellow shirt on and easel set up. She was from Waxahachie and had come to our town to paint a picture of an old building. We chatted with her abit and she let us admire her wonderful picture. I just thought this was so neat. As we drove to through the downtown area we noticed several other painters busy with their artist skills.

I think this week I will wonder off to the Chamber and see all the works of art. It's nice living in a small, quaint community.
